Tapped Dry
Tired. Wore out. Pooped. Lazy? I don't know what it is but I am just out of juice lately. If something requires more brain cells than consuming media ... I'm done. No words, no music, no thing ... nothing.
I am sinking in to music a lot more than I had been recently. Putting on my hacked together ear plug/ear buds and blasting something has been great. I could go an entire day at work and blissfully avoid physical interaction with my co-workers when my ear buds are in.
The iPhone app for Pandora is great! I've got quite a few stations going. One is based on all the post-punk/post-hardcore/post-rock stuff. Another started with Neko Case. Once with Kings Of Leon and My Morning Jacket. Today I created a Public Enemy channel! That channel pulled in some great rap/hip-hop from my youth. Talk about a dramatic departure from my normal music.
To continue the hip-hop theme, I downloaded That's Stupid The Mixtape by The Cool Kids and Joe Metro from Blue Scholars. I'm excited to listen to these. I can't listen to them now as I'm listening to Boxer by The National. The hip-hop can wait for this album.
I've also downloaded a couple of albums from Boris. There was a lot of talk about them on De-Griefer. They are interesting. Their material is so all over the place that it's hard for me to form much of an opinion. I appreciate the amount of output and diversity but there are parts that strike me as awesome and parts that I wish would end ... now.
