The 1990s Ruined Pop Culture

The decade of alternative acceptance destroyed everything. Pop culture, sub culture, counter culture ... all former entities. Everything is on all the time. Every form of music. Every style of dress. Every movement of art. It's all in the current cultural vernacular.

This really makes me mad too! There's no rebellion left. How is youth culture rebelling when everything that they do is already happening?

To take this a step further ... we're done being creative. As a species, humans are creatively spent. It's all remakes and ironic re-interpretations from her on out. Movies, TV, music ... it's all a repeat. I can't remember the last time that I heard a band and thought they sounded like something from post 2000. It just doesn't exist! The 1990s brought so much crap out of the woodwork that we are going to have to wait until 201X to pay off the cultural debt.

What's worse is, the mohawk is now the new mullet.
