This is the scariest thing I've read all week.
Large percentages of Bush supporters believe things that have been put as public record as being false. Here is a summary:
- 72% of Bush supporters believe Iraq had WMDs or a major WMD development program.
- 57% believe that the Duelfer report (the report that said that Iraq had no weapons or development programs) says that Iraq has WMDs.
- 75% believe that Iraq was providing major support to Al Quaida.
- 63% believe that clear evidence of this has been found.
So why even bother with the 9/11 commission if the populace is so weak minded to not even believe the report that they paid for. These aren't opinion or philosophy issues, these are cold, hard, studied, reported (by the Bush administration) facts about the Iraq war and the reasons for it. This isn't subjective material!
