We're one step closer to become a drone society. FDA approves chip implant for making medical records easily available. I'm obviously involved with technology quite a bit but I'm becoming more and more of a technophobe as I get older. In my younger more idealistic days I would have had a little faith in this as I had faith in my Utopian vision of society coming true as well. Now that I'm in the thick of the society I realise, Utopia isn't happeneing anytime soon and that anything that "marks" or "follows" anyone is going to be abused.

Some cell phone providers have started putting GPS transponders in their phones and people can go online and find out where their loved ones are. Or you could find out where your hated ones. Why stop there, let's use some of the provisions in the Patriot Act and we'll label political detractors as terrorists and we'll easily be able to track them down and round them up so they won't threaten us anymore.
