Just a quick urging to vote...
I'll start this off with a link to the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners. I live in Jackson county, MO so that's the most immediate to me but searching for your state or state/county name and "election board" will turn up a similar page relevant to you.
I definitely have my own political opinions, and share on occasion, but lately I've heard a lot of people take a stance toward voting that isn't quite apathy but isn't far from it either. Examples are brought up like the 2000 presidential elections and how the popular vote didn't matter and that a bill permitting concealed firearms (which I am firmly against) was passed by the boters but tied up in court. They feel like it doesn't matter if "they" can do whatever they want.
In my opinion this is even more reason to vote and be politically active. In the U.S. we are in the unique position to be able to question and amend our government. Everyone is elected and at some point has to pander to voters. They don't care about you guys that aren't showing up! Why on earth would they even take notice of you and people in your situation and having your mindset if you aren't even going to show up on polling day. Well, they aren't and they don't. No gives a care politically about you if you don't even do the simplest of tasks and get to the polls!
