Some work to the studio.
I've been working on the studio studio a bit lately. It's all been rearranged, the closet is used as studio closet (NOT a general some crap around the house closet), I've built a couple diffusors to kill some of the flutter echo in the main room. With the rearrangement I freed up a bunch of the gobos that were partioning off space before so they can actually be used for isolation now. During the fall should be the major makeover so watch out for that.
I picked up an omnidirectional mic from RadioShack. This was the last one in the region and was $5! I need to rewire it for XLR but should be a fun little addition. I've got an older RadioShack omni that was the first mic I ever bought that is defiitely fun to play with. I dug up some old 4-track stuff that was all recorded with that mic and it was pretty cool sounding.
I also repaired the mic that I was using for talkback. The guys from Civella mentioned how good the talkback mic sounded so I fixed the loose connection and will probably use it on something soon. BTW, this is another old RadioShack mic. Wierd.
I'm looking at adding a 8 track reel to reel machine soon. I've been wanting to get up to 16 inputs and could easily add another M-Audio card but think that having an analog machine would add some nice variance to the sounds available.
